L de Lubin: launched in 1974. Created by perfumer Lucien Ferrero.





Fragrance Composition:


So what does it smell like? It is classified as a fresh fruity floral woodsy chypre fragrance. It is composed of Italian lemon, Riviera mandarin, jasmine, cedar, oakmoss and South seas ambergris.
  • Top notes: Sicilian citron, blackcurrant buds, Italian lemon, Riviera mandarin, Calabrian bergamot, gardenia, black pepper, ylang ylang
  • Middle notes: Egyptian jasmine, tuberose, Bulgarian rose, May rose, iris, clove, tonka bean, lily
  • Base notes: pine, South Seas ambergris, cedar, oakmoss, rosewood, patchouli, Mysore sandalwood, heliotrope, vanilla,  musk

Fate of the Fragrance:


Reformulated by Lucien Ferrero in 2008 to conform with IFRA regulations.

From Lubin:
"L de Lubin, "a heady scent back from the disco era," is said to have been "favored by pop divas during the seventies." A fruity start of lemon and bergamot give way to floral notes of gardenia, jasmine, rose, iris and lily. Clove, tonka bean, rosewood, patchouli, sandalwood, heliotrope, vanilla and musk give it a dark chypre character."

So what does it smell like? It is classified as an aldehydic floral chypre fragrance.
  • Top notes:  Sicilian lemon and Calabrian bergamot
  • Middle notes: white gardenia, black pepper, ylang ylang, Egyptian jasmine, May rose, iris and lily
  • Base notes: clove, tonka bean, rosewood, patchouli, Mysore sandalwood, heliotrope, vanilla and musk
