Magda by Lubin c1921

Magda by Lubin: launched in 1921.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a floral fragrance for women. I have no published notes on this composition. I would need a sample to tell you what it smells like. It was described in a  1925 newspaper ad as "typically Parisian" and in a 1927 newspaper ad as "delicate, dainty" "pure and sweet".

Bottle:

The elegant bottle has a sweeping shape with a forward sloping base and a figural Neo-Classical style female head for a stopper. The frosted glass stopper has gilded details as decorations in the woman's hair as part of a diadem. The name of the perfume is stenciled in gold enamel on the front of the bottle. The bottle was designed by Julien Viard and was made in three sizes:

  • 5" tall (original retail price was $6.00 in 1924)
  • 5.25" tall (original retail price was $10.00 in 1924)
  • 6.25" tall (original retail price was $12.50 in 1924)

Fate of the Fragrance:

Discontinued.
